Tomorrow’s Megastructures 
September 19-21, 2018

The French Group of IABSE and the AFGC invite the world’s structural engineering community to come to Nantes and share their experiences on today’s megastructures and to present their vision of those of tomorrow - and more broadly their prospect of future outstanding structures.

Preparations are well underway, the Scientific Committee is currently revising over 500 papers received from 50 countries, and the following Keynote Speakers have confirmed their participation:

Call for Papers and Proposals for Special Sessions

You are invited to submit your contribution to the IABSE Symposium Guimarães 2019.

Call for Papers: Participants wishing to present a paper are invited to submit an abstract online by February 28, 2018, relating to the Themes and Topics:

  1. Novel Management Tools for the Built Environment
  2. Lifecycle Quality Control of New and Existing Infrastructures
  3. Advanced Frameworks for a Sustainable Built Environment
  4. Risk Analysis Procedures, from Theory to Practice
  5. Future Trends in Structural Engineering

Proposals for Special Sessions: The Scientific Committee invites proposals for ‘Special Sessions’. The theme of a Special Session should be in alignment with the themes and topics of the Symposium. However, Special Session Proposals with significant contribution to the objectives of IABSE will be considered.

IABSE is pleased to announce its new partnership with Taylor & Francis Group as the publisher of its highly regarded publication, Structural Engineering International (SEI). Starting 2018 onwards, Taylor & Francis will publish and distribute SEI to all IABSE members and will be taking over its subscription, sales and marketing.
