Meet the Six Commissions of the Technical Committee (TC)
Get to know the different teams with their respective scopes, and engage in worthwhile activities that suit your affinity and interests. The six Commissions offer a variety of projects for IABSE members (and non-members alike) to get involved in. The new TC structure was approved by the Permanent Committee in 2017, Vancouver.
Commissions (Comm.) are long-term organizational units. They encompass a broad range of topics and organize activities within their scope of expertise. They monitor and coordinate the work done by Task Groups.

June 6-7, 2019: 2nd Bridge Engineering Workshop Mexico
The objective of this event is to bring together national and international specialists in bridges engineering to share research results and discuss main and relevant issues that will shape a bridges regulation code in order to improve the practice of design and construction of this type of infrastructure in Mexico.

New York 2019
The Evolving Metropolis will address the social and economic needs of the world with sessions on Durable Bridges and Affordable Housing as well as numerous other important and current issues presented in our world. The Scientific Programme will include Plenary and Concurrent Sessions over three days. Panel discussions and Poster Sessions will also be incorporated into the programme.

Bulgaria - Welcome!

Sofia - 14 IABSE members met in the UACEG university in Sofia to form the new Bulgarian Group of IABSE.
The new NG elected their officers and defined their mission and vision. The Bulgarian Group endeavours to increase IABSE's membership in their country through various planned activities.

Introduction of Bridge Monitoring and Evaluation by European Smart Sensor Technology
The Thai Group of IABSE will organise a Seminar for graduate students in the Chulalongkorn University on this topic, with Mr. Martin Fritz, from Vienna Consulting Engineers VCE, dealing with bridge monitoring and evaluation by European smart sensor technology, structural health monitoring and other topics.

National Groups of IABSE have the pleasure of inviting you to attend the jointly organized Young Engineers Colloquium 2019 (YEC2019) on 15 and 16 March 2019 at Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands. The YEC Committee is looking forward to receiving interesting project descriptions from young engineers under 35 years of age (born 1984 or later). Please submit a two-page paper in English by 15 February 2019 to YEC2019@iabse.be

Za'abeel One - Skybridge – Design and Construction Methods
IABSE UAE NG will support an event which is being organised by the Institution of Structural Engineers on this topic. The speaker, Jens Fussing will provide examples of different construction methods of sky bridges and talk us though the typical challenges and considerations when designing and constructing sky bridges from around the world.
