Wroclaw, the capital of the Lower Silesia, is also called Venice of the north. Located on the Oder River, the city is unique with 12 islands and known as “The City of 100 Bridges” It has one of the biggest numbers of bridges and footbridges, in Europe.

The main goal of this Symposium is to have a forum amongst scientists, experts, designers, contractors and all those interested in challenges regarding bridges and other civil engineering structures. With the main attention to synergy of civil engineering and culture under historical aspects as well as to the challenges ahead of us.

2nd Brazilian Seminar on Bridge and Structure

About 300 students and engineers were present in Curitibal, Brazilian State of Paraná Norte, in October 22, 2019, for attending the Second South-Brazilian Symposium on Bridges and Structures, promoted by the South-Brazilian Chapter of ABPE (Brazilian Association of Bridges and Structures – Brazilian Group of IABSE).

The Milne Medal Lecture

Neil Thomas from AtelierOne will receive this year’s Milne Medal and deliver his Milne Lecture on 12th November at the Institution of Structural Engineers. The Award is named after named in recognition of the late Bob Milne, who served for many years as the Honorary Secretary of the IABSE British Group of IABSE.

International Conference on Civil Infrastructure and Construction (CIC 2020)

The conference is co-organized by Qatar University and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). The conference has the following 4 themes that will be run as parallel sessions in the conference:

Theme 1: Construction Management and Process
Theme 2: Materials and Transportation Engineering
Theme 3: Geotechnical, Environmental, and Geo-environmental Engineering
Theme 4: Sustainability, Renovation, and Monitoring of Civil Infrastructure.

The list of keynote speakers include the President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Chair of Board Of Directors 2019 of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Vice President and President-elect of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), and the President of International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE).
