Cooperative -

noun

  1. a farm, business, or other organization that is owned and run jointly by its members, who share the profits or benefits.

Welcome New Members

RChain set out to be different. Socially minded, responsible and addressing the unaddressed technical and community needs of blockchain. We could think of no better way to do that than to make it a cooperative. This is where you, the member, have a direct say in the operations and governance of an evolutionary platform.

The response to the opening up of membership and to the private token sale has been extremely encouraging, and we sincerely thank all the members for their support of the RChain Cooperative.

Cooperative membership registrations will remain open from here on, and we are currently accepting Bitpay payments with plans to open up other forms of payments very soon.

The co-op now has 340 paid members and growing. With members bringing a range of skillsets and resources, from all walks of life, we are very excited to see how the community will grow and evolve over the next few years of the cooperative.

We encourage all members to share what they are learning with the RChain Cooperative and to invite their friends to join in our live hangouts each Wednesday and to Join as a member so that they can chat directly with our core development team and extended activist community through our discord chat channel.

Private Token Sale Updates

The private token sale has now concluded, and The RChain Cooperative is no longer accepting new token purchase requests. However, for individuals who initiated a token purchase during the sale where you have not yet completed your purchase, we will continue processing existing purchase requests received before 5PM Pacific time on September 28th until we get to everyone. Thank you for your patience.

The total amount purchased and closed thus far is 9.1 Million (pre-tax).

Membership Meeting

Our next major topic for the consideration for the membership is the first membership meeting, which will occur in Seattle on October 24, 2017. All members in the Cooperative are invited to attend. A request to RSVP will be sent to the entire membership. Although it is not required it would be helpful if you would please RSVP to let us know you plan on attending.

The first meeting of the membership the members in the Cooperative will elect directors to their normal terms. The directors are to be allocated to a staggered range in three groups, of one, two, and three year durations, such that after each three year cycle, every director will have been up for election at a subsequent member meeting.

The members are to form three member committees; the Executive Committee, the Nominating and Governance Committee, and the Compensation Committee. If wish to serve on one of these committees, please sign up in advance of the meeting of the members on October 24th. Committee selections will be made at the meeting, and the members will be finalized and distributed after the meeting.

Additional membership-suggested agenda items. If there is a topic that is of particular interest for the membership, please submit specific well-worded topics or proposals that can be put on the agenda for the meeting. Members should communicate with one another using Discord with their preference to select what agenda items are of importance to place on a vote before the membership, and also to choose the options available for voting on each agenda item. The current directors will endeavor to draft a ballot with language that is reflective of the desired positions of the membership on each topic, but the exact language may be different from what you requested, such as to reduce a diverse spectrum of member opinions to a discrete set of distinct voting options for a particular item.

We expect a finalized meeting agenda and ballot form for the meeting two weeks in advance of October 24th, giving the membership sufficient time to read it, digest it, discuss it with other members, and make their selections regarding the agenda items for their consideration. Members may submit their ballots either electronically or in person at the meeting of the membership. In addition to voting, if you would like to meet and talk with the other members, please do come to the meeting.

Thank you all for your continuing support, and we look forward to meeting everyone at the first meeting of the membership.

Platform Updates

We have completed our second sprint, and are happy to report that all members of the team met their sprint committments!  Progress on the Rosette VM port is progressing nicely.  We have implemented a Continuous Integration pipeline for the VM, and anticipate to complete our first milestone on schedule.
