Dear Campers & Families,
 
Thank you for signing up for our Mill Creek YMCA Specialty Camp happening during the week of August 19-23.  I hope all of your children are excited to spend the week learning new skills and discovering hidden talents. Please find the information below about the camp you are signed up for as well as info on the instructors.  
 

WELCOME TO WEEK 9 OF SPECIALTY CAMP 

  • 6:30 - 9 am - Extended Care
  • 9 am - 12 pm - Robotic Carnival Camp® with Robot U – Explore what it takes to build a carnival rides and games! Using LEGO MINDSTROMS EV3® and basic engineering principles, campers design, build, and program a carnival machines.
  • 12-1 pm - Lunch
  • 1- 4 pm - Game Design Camp with Robot U – Create your own game using Scratch software. Learn to program through fun challenges and experimentation.
  • 4 - 6:30 pm - Extended Care

Camp Location:
Camp and Extended Care is in the cafeteria at SILVER LAKE ELEMENTARY.

Where to Sign-in/Sign-out: You will sign your camper in/out each day in the cafeteria at Silver Lake Elementary, on the west side of the school by the field. Once you get into the parking lot, we will have signs directing you where to go. Please remember to bring your ID when picking up at the end of each day. Kids will only be released to a parent or guardian who is listed on the camp registration form with matching ID. If you are signed up for full day, drop off begins at 6:30am and pick up ends at 6:30pm.

PLEASE NOTE: If you signed up for only the 1/2 day part of camp, there is no care outside of the hours of 9-12 pm or 1-4 pm depending on if you registered for the AM or PM portion of camp.
 


What to Bring Everyday: Backpack or bag, lunch (if full day), two small snacks, large water bottle, sunscreen, appropriate clothes/shoes and a book to read. Due to allergies among school age children, we are a NUT FREE campPlease do not send your camper with any peanut butter or nuts of any kind in their lunches. If your child has allergies, make sure you are sending them with necessary medications and have it documented on their paperwork.  All other equipment needed for camps will be supplied to campers at camp.

Remind App
This summer we are using the app REMIND to help communicate with parents. We will only be using this for camp  reminders, or any immediate updates that are needed. Just text @mcspecial to 81010 to get updates. You can opt out at any time by texting @LEAVE to the same number.
