This year's 4th Invitational New Mexico Painter's Exhibition will give a special nod to Las Vegas, its location from the beginning, and will illustrate the rich artistic heritage of Las Vegas' past and present.

Along with the work of astounding contemporary Northern New Mexico artists, the print room off the gallery will feature works from Highland's legendary art department of the 1960's that included Elmer Schooley, Ray Drew, Harry Leippe, and Paul Volckening.

The opening reception will be held September 17th from 4-7 PM with guest speaker Harry Leippe. The show and reception are open to the public and will run until October 25.

Have a story to tell? Want to create a live performance and radio
broadcast?

The counterculture era holds a treasure trove of history. Your personal experiences are part of that legacy and can expand our understanding of the impact of those times.

We invite you to delve into your personal archive of memories, writings, and images by joining us for a weekend workshop to craft your story relating to the counterculture era. The result will be a public presentation, potluck, a live or produced community radio broadcast, and an on-line presence.

The 1960s–70s ignited a unique brand of social activism, alternative lifestyles, and artistic expression. Our project will explore counterculture’s relevance and how it may inspire us today.

Apply to participate in one of our five regional Turn On, Tune In storytelling projects. Groups will be limited to ten participants (ages 19 and up) and will begin with a Friday evening presentation followed by a two-day workshop on Saturday and Sunday.
