Congratulations to Anthoni Cgnasi, on receiving his Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas Tech University class of 2018. Anthoni received his BS in Biology and Minor in Chemistry in 2014 from New Mexico Highlands University.

Molly Enenbach, class of '16, worked with Dr. Dick Greene, former NMHU professor and current Jefferson Science Fellow, and two other students to demonstrate the power of point of care ultrasound to attendees, medical students, and physicians in hospitals and clinics in Namibia.
They gave presentations of how ultrasound works, the incredible application, and the power POCUS gives individuals to improve bedside diagnosis.
They worked with the University of Namibia School of Medicine to put on an ultrasound workshop, working with the university to encourage Namibian medical students and doctors to advocate for an ultrasound training facility and program in their clinical education and practice.
During their time, they went with the physicians in the hospitals, using ultrasound to aid in diagnosis of many patients. Molly says: "Working in Namibia was an honor and a humbling experience, showing me how incredibly dedicated the physicians and medicals students are in Namibia."

Congratulations to Julio Garcia, on receiving his Juris Doctor from The University of New Mexico class of 2018. Julio is an NMHU Alumni, he received his BA in Political Science in 2013.

The summer program will be an intense six week program held in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and Las Vegas. Programing gears towards empowering immigrants, refugees, people of color and LGBTQ youth through the exposure of New Mexico’s social justice history, as well as the national movements all of this, while reinforcing the students reading, writing, and public speaking skills.

The program intends to provide a guide for students to discover their role and responsibility in community organizing, and getting hands on experience by generating changes in their localities and at the state level.

The program will run from Monday, June 25 to Sunday,August 11, 2018. Summit scholars will attend the program sessions four days a week, Monday- Thursday.

Be an Enrollment Ambassador!

Enrollment Ambassadors play an integral role in NMHU’s recruitment, admissions, and in getting students to come to Highlands. From reaching out to potential applicants at college fairs and high schools to attending admitted student events, there are a number of ways to get involved.

If you’re short on time or live in a less populated area, our new call out initiative can be completed with basic phone and internet service. It will take a couple hours of your time and is as easy as making some phone calls and sending your report to NMHU. We will provide you a training manual and key NMHU facts to ensure your calls are successful. Your work will have a positive enrollment impact moving into the 2018 academic year.

If interested, please contact Benito Pacheco, the Director of Academic Support, at 505-454-3188 or bmpacheco@nmhu.edu.
