Soup Suppers are Now Soup to Go

The youth will not be hosting Soup Suppers this year but you will still be able to enjoy delicious home-made soup. After worship each Wednesday you will be able to pick up a container of soup and some bread. A free-will offering will be requested. If you're one of our regular soup makers and would still like to donate a pot, please contact Judy Bruschuk. Proceeds will be used to help those attending the 2022 LCMS National Youth Gathering in Houston.

Valentine's Packages

The confirmation class made Valentine packages for Trinity's college students and military. They love receiving them! Please help us keep the cost of postage down by taking a package or two to mail.

ALTAR GUILD

Altar Guild serves the congregation behind the scenes by preparing the chancel and its furnishings for corporate worship. The overall goal of the Altar guild is to see that the worship space is kept beautiful and
in good order, both to glorify God and to provide a setting that enables the congregation to worship in a meaningful way. The guild's functions include displaying, cleaning, and storing paraments and linens,
preparing the elements for communion and cleaning up afterward, maintaining the altar ware, and caring for the candles that decorate the chancel.

Altar Guild will meet Tuesday, February 9 at 7 p.m. in the Trinity Center to schedule the next 6 months. Please consider being a part of the altar guild to do this rewarding work. Contact Marilyn Felz 630-627-2409.

Virtual Choir

Trinity's Choir is meeting virtually each Thursday at 8 pm. Even if you cannot carry a tune, you are welcome to join. The virtual choir participates in a muted microphone sing along and then learns some interesting tidbits. For example, one week they viewed the video "Silent Night: A Song for the World."

If you'd like a Zoom invitation, contact Mary Stahlke.

Prayer challenge

Keep your eyes open during the next two weeks for information about our next prayer challenge. For the Lenten season, we will be inviting you to each pray for a member that would be randomly assigned to you. If you would like to participate, please contact Margaret in the church office. More details to follow.

English District Gala

The English District will be hosting a 1 hour Virtual Gala on June 13th at 6:30 pm CDT. The goal of this event is to gather the entire district virtually to celebrate the many blessings God has bestowed upon us as we grow in both faith and numbers. The English District is now in 22 states and 2 countries and we have not been as strong as we are now in many years.  It's time to stop and join together to give thanks to God.  Please use the link provided in this email to register for the Gala.  A second goal is to raise $50,000 for the Endowment Fund which is currently over 2 million dollars. The interest on this fund is how we fund many ministries in the English District, such as the $50,000 that the District awarded Trinity to fund our after school ministry "The Projects" and the $80,000 awarded to our sister congregation, Christ English in the Austin neighborhood, to put a new roof on their school the contract of which was awarded to our own Carrie Brockie and her Plan B Foundation. So you can see how these mission funds have benefitted us greatly, and this is our opportunity to give something back.

Pastor is asking every member to attend this Gala if it is possible for you. If you would like to donate to the fund, that is wonderful, but your attendance is what is most important.  We want to have the whole district together for an hour thanking God for the amazing blessings he has poured out upon us and for the incredible ways he has helped us grow and thrive in the pandemic.
