PANDA THREADS VOL. 17 | 29 APRIL 2021

“If you want a picture of the future,
imagine a boot stamping on a human face — for ever.”
GEORGE ORWELL, 1984

This edition of PANDA Threads has a heavy legal and human rights slant - not because we planned that, but because government oppression is becoming more obvious and more brutal in many parts of the world. As the virus recedes, censorship and tyranny rise in desperate ways.

Read about a groundbreaking ruling for children in Germany, which was almost immediately overturned and the judge placed under investigation. Note the distressing amendment to Germany's Infectious Disease Protection Act and the UK's brand new Pandemic Preparedness Plan - with the usual suspects lurking in the background.

Then be inspired by the courage of ordinary people uniting and pushing back. Sign the UK citizens' Declaration of Freedom and Human Rights, watch thousands of peaceful protesters in Berlin and London, and sing along to the Danser Encore flash mobs across France that are spreading to neighbouring countries. Resistance goes 'viral'!

Germany: Weimar Judge rules all COVID measures inappropriate at schools

On 8 April 2021, a landmark ruling in a family court in Weimar caused a stir when the judge ruled that the siblings, whose mother had brought the case against NPIs, were exempt from mask-wearing, social distancing and bi-weekly Covid testing at their respective schools. The 178-page ruling (German) describes the COVID measures as harmful to all school children and recommends they be stopped immediately in all schools across the district.

Sadly, on 20 April, a higher court overturned that ruling, stating that a family court has no jurisdiction over public health mandates. As if that is not enough, on 26 April the Weimar judge was harassed by police, his vehicle, home and office were searched and his cell phone confiscated. He is under investigation.

Amendment to the Infectious Disease Protection Act

The German Bundesrat approved the amendment to the Infection Protection Act, on Thursday, after it was passed by the Bundestag the day before. There is significant criticism of the law, as it removes each county's right to decide on how to deal with coronavirus and gives the Chancellor the power to use the so-called 'emergency brake'.  The law was signed by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and took effect on Saturday.

UK Citizens' Declaration for Freedom and Human Rights

"With more and more UK citizens understanding that their freedoms and human rights are being insidiously eroded by politicians, a stage has been reached where we must all, in unison, say enough is enough.

The time has arrived when we must take action - we must make it plain to all UK authorities, including the Government, that we will take no more and that we will hold them accountable, with or without their consent or agreement."

Michael  - Canada

As you are probably aware, Ontario is currently, on its third lockdown and people’s spirits have sunk to a new low. Frustratingly, they have ceased all procedures and surgeries and have made Covid-19 the frontline of our health crisis. Thus delaying the needs of many that may suffer further complications if not treated. Not including the economic disaster we are facing.
That said, my main reason for wanting to connect with you is in regards to our neighbouring province Quebec. The political measures being used there is frightfully not far from a Police State. If is isn’t already. In fact, they are currently building a Provincial border on the ON/QB line.
Earlier this year, I was visiting my girlfriend (whom now I can’t see due to the border) who resides in Quebec City. In short, whilst having tea (and her recovering from a medical condition) in the afternoon with her cousin and fiancée, 12 officers barged into the private residence. They swarmed the apartment immediately searching through closets, wardrobes, rooms, believing we were hiding others. All this without Consent of Entry nor a Search Warrant.
We quickly responded, recording them entering and roaming the premises. Even though we were overwhelmed and shocked. Unfortunately, my girlfriend began to have an anxiety attack, slowly falling, while pressed against the wall by two officers demanding her ID and even access to her Social Media (facebook). Yes, it went that far.
As I attempted to get to her and calm her down, they soon after began to aggressively nudge us towards to the door, down the three level wooden winding staircase to the main entrance of the building. We are still not entirely sure how they got in the through the main door, as it was locked.
In the end, we all received $1550.00 fines for having an “Illegal Gathering” (several people) in the afternoon.
We are taking legal matters as we strongly feel this goes against our Charter of Rights and Constitutional Rights as Canadians. However, the laws have been changing so rapidly, even lawyers are uncertain how to tackle this.
There are many stories like this. From people being grabbed off the streets, breaking up children birthday parties, closing parks, even arresting a man who was pushing his Mother in a wheel chair. Just horrible stories.

Peaceful Resistance

 LONDON IS RISING...

The gigantic march through the whole of central London...Nine miles of people. Many hundreds of thousands.

And yes, in about ten miles and 3 1/2 hours I saw no violence, hardly any police and a good natured march. This will and must continue. There must never be another lockdown. In any circumstances.
